About Us
Dunnottar Farm opened its doors in October 2011. Since then, we have competed for many seasons on the 'A', Silver and Trillium circuits, qualifying for both the Royal Winter Fair and the Trillium Championships multiple times. We are also the home to the UOIT/Durham College Equestrian Team as of 2018.
Joanna Buston is the on-site trainer and coach and attends both Silver and 'A' circuit shows with Dunnottar Farm's students. Working first on developing a strong foundation in flat work and position, and then building on that into course work, all of her students learn to ride safely, with confidence, and implement strong equitation and horsemanship techniques before graduating into the show ring.
On top of coaching, Joanna has many years of experience bringing along young horses from backing, to putting on the finishing touches, until they are ready to reach their full potential with an amateur rider in either the hunter or jumper ring.
Joanna has competed on countless horses in all three rings (hunter, jumper, equitation) at a national and provincial level since she was 10 years old, garnering priceless experience on horses of all ages and types along the way.
